PROFILE

SHARYN SKRABANICH, RELOCATION PRACTITIONER

Sharyn Skrabanich joined A-Locate just over 12 months ago and has worked in the relocation industry for 3 ½ years.

Sharyn has three children aged 14, 11 and 7 and a great understanding of what moving to a new place is like.

"Children can either be ecstatic about moving to a new location or absolutely loathe it!" Quite often, it is the mother who has to deal with the emotional complexities of the task, whilst the father is trying to settle into his new role or position within a company. It is a highly emotional and draining time for all of the family members involved. “I have complete empathy with the personalities involved, whilst being objective enough to assist with informed, decision making when and if required”, says Sharyn.

Sharyn believes it is her role to try and make this transition as easy as possible. "At A-Locate, we try to ensure that housing, schooling and all of the additional settling-in period happen, with 'as little pain and stress as possible'. Our hands-on and personal approach is very different to many of the other relocation companies. A gentle hand and a little local knowledge can be very re-assuring to a family who needs constant support during this period of their lives".

Sharyn's background includes marketing roles for several Australian textile companies, followed by commencement of her own interior decorating business. She is the author of the book "Soft Furnishings For Your Home" by Fairfax Press which sold in 12 countries.

Today Sharyn enjoys the challenges that the relocation industry provides: "Each day is different as each families needs are different. Listening to my clients' needs is paramount, to ensure they are completely satisfied with their final destination and decisions that will affect their families during their time in Sydney - The best city in the world!"
